The research “Girls in Ceará – The life trajectory and vulnerabilities of adolescent victims of homicide” is the result of an effort made by the Violence Prevention and Combat Committee, of the Legislative Assembly of Ceará, to understand the trajectories of 114 girls, aged between 10 and 19 years old, murdered in 2018.

In this document, we question what led to such brutal violence against these women in particular. Among all forms of violence against young women, there is a fundamental component of male chauvinism and patriarchy. And there is also a racial profiling, structuring our society.

Below is a document with 9 fields of evidence and recommendations to be implemented by public authorities, universities and organized civil society.  You can also check other documents produced by the Violence Prevention and Combat Committee translated to english.
